Cross Country 2013

"If adventure does not wait on the doorstep, climb through the window" 
by someone I don't know

For Cross Country 2013, we had planned about 2 months in advance.Our journey started on 3.2.2013 and ended on 9.2.2013. An extremely long getaway and filled with sweet memories.

Day 1

1st night - Strawberry Park.

The rooms were refurbished so it looks new. just 1 thing that we weren't satisfied about was that the toilet stinks! euw......uek! we did ask the housekeeping to cleanup while we went out but it still stinks. so I had to do the cleaning myself. malas nk kecoh2 lah katakan....eiuw goli makcik

But overall it was superb. Nice and clean bed. Balcony with a great view. Had our dinner on the balcony. Bought the best ikan bakar ever from a restaurant near the Pasar Besar. Fresh  

Day 2

Of to Tasik Kenyir. Took the Gua Musang route.

It was hell of a ride. In fact the road was not even charted as a proper road. My husband found out about this route by blog reading and wanted to get a feel of it himself. Hah, amikaw!! ranap kereta..haha.. Despite the awful road (which was about 10 km), I would say it was a goddamn great experience. After Felda Aring the road was properly paved but poorly maintained.

2nd night - Tasik Kenyir Resort.

Because it was a off-peak season, so it seems nobody was around except a few tourist. Quite hard for us to find a restaurant or even a shop. I assume business would be back during the school holidays or on a long public holiday.We wanted to go on a boat ride but the minimum people for a ride was 6 pax. I guess they could bring us on a boat ride even there were 4 of us but my husband was just like a kid who lost his puppy because he wanted to eat kopok lekor in terengganu.hehe... so we decided to shorten our visit here.

Day 3

Before heading to Terengganu, we made sure that Muaz gets to see his favorite animals. The Deer Park was within the resort's compound. So Muaz gets to pay a visit everyday. Sungai Ketiar Elephant Santuary is about 45 minutes drive from the resort.

3rd night - Felda Residences

I forgot to take pictures of this hotel but want I can say is that this hotel is value for its money. Since it is located at KT, you can be the first person to visit Pasar Payang in the early morning. Pasar Payang (boleh buat duit melayang) a must visit for ladies.

Day 4 &5

4th and 5th night - Ri-yaz Heritage

The best hotel for this trip. Thumbs up for super daddy for picking this hotel.

After swimming in the pool, the kids played in the bath tub.

Play ground right in front of our doorsteps.

Pok Rashid Ikan Bakar

After the kids were asleep, Ayah went for a search for our dinner. We made sure the kids ate early and were sent to bed early so mummy and daddy could have a quiet dinner together. :) Good strategy but works only a few times. So Ayah went to Pok Rashid Ikan Bakar. Found out about this place through blog reading. The fish was so big and it was kind of cheap.

Day 6

6th night - The Zenith Hotel, Kuantan.

ala...our holiday has nearly come to its end. The hotel was new and nice.
